Plan a swimming pool
Set rounded pool dimensions and depths, then inspect the pool and its finishes in Studio.

Pond Tools. Plan your pond before you dig. Start with Draw a pond. For this compact pool example, select the lower ledge and remove it. That leaves a waterline, one shelf, and a deep floor. Open Studio in the left sidebar, then Landscape. Expand Pond and pool shapes and choose Rounded pool. This replaces the outlines while keeping their depths. Set the width to fourteen feet and the length to eight feet. Check the units. The shape updates when you leave each dimension field. Under Water, set the shelf to twelve inches and the deep floor to forty-eight. This example estimates one thousand, seven hundred and thirty-nine US gallons. Open Studio View and choose Swimming pool. Inspect the rounded outline and continuous pool rim in three dimensions. Choose White plaster under Interior finish. The finish changes the preview, while the physical dimensions stay the same. Compare Light-blue mosaic. Use the visible controls to explore how the same design looks with a different finish. Set Water color to Turquoise. This is a presentation choice, not a prediction of the pool's real water quality. Use Auto rotate to inspect the shape. Return to the plan for geometry changes. Volume depends on your measurements, and this preview is not a certified construction design.
Start a separate design
Open Build a Pond and choose Draw a pond to start an editable example. To adapt a saved design, open Projects, choose Duplicate beside it and open the copy before replacing its outlines. Keep a project export as a backup; see Save, move and print a project.
In Water, select Lower ledge and choose Remove ledge if that layer is present in the starter. The video uses three layers: Waterline, Ledge 1 and Deep floor.
Choose the pool outline
- Open Studio in the editor's left sidebar.
- Choose Landscape.
- Expand Pond and pool shapes.
- Choose Rounded pool.
Choosing a shape replaces the pond outlines and keeps their depths. Undo restores the previous outlines.
Set the dimensions and depths
In Pond and pool shapes, set Dimensions in to Feet. Enter Width 14 and Length 8 for the video example. The shape updates when you leave each dimension field.
Open Water and set Ledge 1 to 12 inches and Deep floor to 48 inches. These depths are measured below the waterline. Check that the inner outlines remain inside the rim.
The recorded rounded-pool example has a surface area of 111.4 square feet and an estimated volume of 1,739 US gallons. Its maximum depth is 48 inches. Changing the outline, dimensions or depths changes the estimate.
Inspect the pool in Studio
Choose Studio View at the top of the editor. Under View settings, choose Swimming pool in Landscape to view the pool rim around the same geometry.
Use Interior finish to compare White plaster and Light-blue mosaic. Set Water color to Turquoise to follow the video. These are presentation settings; the design's physical dimensions stay the same.
Use Auto rotate to inspect the shape from different angles. Choose Back to Plan to change the outline or depths, then export the updated project from Projects.
