Pond Tools. Plan your pond before you dig. From planned pond to perfect water. Use calculators based on your pond’s volume, alongside current water tests. This example trace estimates two hundred fifteen U.S. gallons. Check the scale and depths. Rock and gravel reduce the water held. Open Water Change in the same browser. The saved pond volume fills the field. Confirm the actual filled volume before treatment calculations. Here, eighty now, sixty as the example target, and zero in the replacement water gives about fifty four gallons to replace. Enter the replacement water’s test reading too. The result depends on it. These example inputs are not a recommended target. The salt calculator uses volume too. Enter your current reading and intended target. Check product instructions and species tolerance before dosing. For ammonia, enter the reading, pH, and temperature. This concentration does not depend on pond volume. Check your test kit’s units. Use your pond’s measurements alongside current water tests. Explore the calculators at Pond Tools dot com slash calculators.

Check the pond volume

Open the intended project and check its scale, outline and depths. The plan's volume is an estimate; rock and gravel reduce the amount of water held. Confirm the actual filled volume before treatment calculations.

Open a calculator in the same browser. Water change and Salt can fill their volume field from the saved trace. Check the displayed volume and units before using the result. If the page says the saved trace needs refreshing, return to the plan and check it first.

Calculate a water change

Open Water change. Enter the pond volume, current reading, intended target and replacement water's reading. The result depends on all four inputs.

The video uses a 215 US gallon example and readings of 80, 60 and 0. The app returns about 54 gallons to replace. Those readings demonstrate the calculation; they do not establish a suitable target for your pond.

Check the other inputs

The Salt calculator uses pond volume along with the current reading and intended target. Check product instructions and species tolerance before dosing.

Ammonia toxicity uses total ammonia, pH and temperature. This concentration calculation does not depend on pond volume. Check the units reported by your test kit.

Use current water tests alongside the pond measurements. Review each calculator's inputs and notes in the calculator collection. The calculations do not guarantee a water-quality outcome.
